Epworth Scholarships 2009

    Epworth United Methodist Church offers educational scholarships to its student members to be applied to the cost of                 secondary school tuition, books, fees, supplies, housing, and transportation.

        Dates for 2009:

    May 15 – Scholarship Applications due for A) Graduating High School Seniors
    June 1 –  Applicants (A) Notified by the Scholarship Committee
    June 14 – Scholarships to be presented during Sunday Service
    June 15 – Applications due for B) Undergraduate Entering 2nd Year or Above
    June 25 -  Applicants (B) Notified by the Scholarship Committee

        Mission:

     The purpose of the scholarship program at Epworth is to acknowledge the youth who have been active members of the            congregation and who are attempting to further their education, post high school. The financial gifts and prayers from the            church family are intended to support and encourage these students on their journey to reach their academic and spiritual            goals.

           Who is Eligible?

A) Graduating high school seniors who are active members of Epworth and who have been accepted into an accredited college or vocational school, full time.

B) Full time undergraduate students entering their 2nd year or above at an accredited college or vocational school, who have previously received an Epworth scholarship for their 1st year. This student must demonstrate financial need (see Criteria).

            Requirements:

       Eligible students must submit a completed Application using the correct form for the type of scholarship they are applying          for: A) Graduating High School Seniors  (Click here for a printable copy of the Scholarship Application) or 

       B) Undergraduate Entering 2nd Year or Above, by the due date (Click here for a printable copy of the Foster Scholarship Application). Forms are available on this website or at the Church office.

           Criteria:

        - Any and all eligible students meeting the Requirements for A), above, will receive an Epworth Scholarship.

        - One eligible student meeting the Requirements for B), above, and who demonstrates the greatest financial need, will           receive a scholarship.
